Il compositore rimase seduto su questa canzone per cinque anni e ne scrisse almeno 150 versi - solo allora fu soddisfatto del suo magnus opus. Tuttavia, è stato sorpreso dalla sua etichetta Columbia Records, che ha deciso di non pubblicare l'LP in America.
